Fly to Hanoi. Meet and greet at the airport. Drive to the city and hotel placement. Overnight in Hanoi.
2nd DAY: HANOI
Have a daily breakfast at your hotel. Today the city tour with traditional lunch is waiting for you. Visit: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature and Old Quartier. Enjoy the short ride through the streets and in the evening see the Water Puppet theatre. Stroll around the market area, return to the hotel and overnight.
3rd DAY: HANOI – NINH BINH
Start with daily breakfast and continue with a little longer drive to the quiet Ninh Binh – the Halong Bay on the land. Check in at the guest house for more authentic experience. Visit ancient town of Hoa Lu and join the Trang An boat tour. Return to guest house for dinner. Overnight. (placement: guest house)
4th DAY: NINH BINH
After breakfast drive to explore Cuc Phuang National Park, ride bicycle between the paddy fields and visit the Mua Cave. Finally return to guest hous for dinner. Overnight. (placement: guest house)
5th DAY: NINH BINH – HANOI – FLIGHT TO DANANG – HOI AN
In the morning drive back to Hanoi and directly to the airport. Fight directly to Danang. Meet your guide at the airport and transfer to the hotel in Hoi An. Overnight.
6th DAY: HOI AN
After breakfast hop on the bicycle and ride to the local farm. Get familiar with local ingredients, vegetables and farming areas; then join the cooking class. You eat what you cook! Hop on the bicycle again and visit the pottery village. Back to explore the city of Hoi An with a privately guided city tour. Visit: Japanese Covered bridge, Fujian assembly hall, Tan Ky old house and Ceramics Museum. Free evening. Overnight.
7th DAY: HOI AN
It is your free day in Hoi An. Explore the shops, savour the food and watch the lanterns lit the river up at the sunset.
8th DAY: HOI AN – HUE
Private transfer over Hai Van pass and admire the breathtaking views. Reach Hue and have lunch at the local restaurant. In the afternoon sightseeing: Citadel and the Forbidden Purple city, as well as Dong Ba market – for local delicacies. Transfer to the hotel and check in; overnight.
9th DAY: HUE – HO CHI MINH CITY
Still in Hue in the morning, and after checking out visit Hue’s famous Perfume River. Take a boat ride on the Perfume River; visit Thien Mu pagoda and Mausoleum of Khai Dinh. In the afternoon flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Greet and meet at the airport; transfer to the hotel and overnight.
10th DAY: HO CHI MINH CITY
Directly after breakfast, drive to the suburbs and visit the Chu Chi tunnels. Listen to the stories of the war and crawl into the tunnels if you dare. After lunch return to HCMC and enjoy city tour of modern and colonial times. Visit: Reunification palace, Emperor pagoda, Notre Dame cathedral, Ben Thanh Market, Old Post Office, Opera house (from outside). In the evening enjoy by yourself, try out famous Vietnamese coffee and stroll around vibrant night food markets. Overnight.
11th DAY: HO CHI MINH CITY – MEKONG DELTA – CAN THO
Early morning breakfast and drive to My Tho. Visit local villages/islands on Tien River (Dragon Island, Phoenix Island, Unicorn Island and Turtle Island) by boat. Enjoy lunch and local activities prepared for you. Late evening arrive to Can Tho, famous for the night food stals and morning floating market. Overnight.
12th DAY: CAN THO – RACH GIA – PHU QUOC
Before breakfast visit morning ‘slowly disappearing’ floating market. After breakfast longer drive with stops on the way to reach the port of Rach Gia. After lunch take passenger ferry to Phu Qouc Island. Transfer to the hotel and placement. Overnight. (placement: hotel by the beach)
13th DAY: PHU QOUC
Explore Phu Qouc, nature and history – or everything the island can offer. Visit almost complete island by private tour. On the way you see: Phu Qouc Prison, Kissing Bridge, Ho Quoc Temple, black pepper farm, Sao Beach (with short free time for swimming). At the end enjoy your free time at the night market. Back to the hotel. (placement: hotel by the beach)
14th DAY: PHU QOUC
Relax at your own pace. All day free at leisure for your own activities. Overnight.
15th DAY: PHU QOUC – FLIGHT TO HCMC – HCMC
Free time until check out, transfer to the airport and flight towards Ho Chi Minh City. Airport pick up and hotel placement. Overnight.
16th DAY: HO CHI MINH CITY – INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
Check out and free time at leisure until departure. Transfer to the airport. International departure. Bye-bye Vietnam.
