1st DAY: ARRIVAL KATHMANDU
Meet and greet at the airport. Transfer to the hotel and hotel placement. Overnight in Kathmandu.
2nd DAY: KATHMANDU
After breakfast tour officially starts. Today visit Pashupatinath – important Shiva temple and Buddhist stupa in Bouddhanath. In the afternoon explore Bhaktapur with Durbar square, Golden gate and Palace of fifty-five windows. Overnight.
3rd DAY: KATHMANDU – HOLI CELEBRATION
In the morning visit the city of Patan and iconic Nepali Swayambhunath Stupa. After, arrive to Kathmandu Durbar square – explore and join the Holi celebrations. Back to hotel and overnight.
4th DAY: KATHMANDU – CHITWAN
Start day early and join longer drive to Chitwan National Park. In Chitwan we chose lodge placement, because of better animal-connecting experience. Briefing with the nature guide and perhaps enjoy last moments of Holi in the village. (overnight: lodge)
5th DAY: CHITWAN
Today try to spot crocodiles on a serene canoe ride on the Rapti River. Have local lunch and join the jeep safari. Try to get a memorable photo of rhinoceros, see the life of elephants. In the evening relax with Tharu Cultural Dance performance and enjoy local dinner. (overnight: lodge)
6th DAY: CHITWAN – BANDIPUR
Journey takes you to Bandipur – living museum of Newari culture. Here, visit bazaar and little village. In the afternoon hike to Ramnikot village, visit the village and experience real rural life in Nepal (total around 3h hike). Back to the hotel and overnight.
7th DAY: BANDIPUR – POKHARA
After breakfast drive to Pokhara – city nestled below the gorgeous peaks of Himalaya. Hotel placement and little rest. Then, city tour where you visit Lakeside, Mountain Museum, Davis Fall and Gupteswor Cave. Feel the vibe of these alpine streets, overnight.
8th DAY: POKHARA
Rise and shine for early morning drive to Sarangkot for Sunrise view over the Annapurna Massif. Return to the hotel and enjoy breakfast. The rest of the day is free at leisure.
9th DAY: POKHARA – KATHMANDU
Be ready for the long, but scenic drive back to Kathmandu. Hotel placement and overnight.
10th DAY: INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT BACK HOME
Free until departure for the airport and flight back home.
Important Notes
Clothing: Pack lightweight, breathable fabrics like linen or cotton for daytime exploring, along with comfortable walking shoes with good grip for uneven cobblestones and dirt trails. Modest attire covering shoulders and knees is essential for entering temples and stupas. Don’t forget a warm outer layer for cooler evenings in hilltop towns like Bandipur and Pokhara.
Local Etiquette: Greet locals by placing your palms together at chest level and saying “Namaste” with a warm smile. Always remove your shoes before entering homes, monasteries, and Hindu temples. Walk clockwise around Buddhist stupas, prayer wheels, and shrines, and refrain from pointing directly at sacred statues or touching anyone’s head.
Environment: Tap water is not safe to drink, so stick to bottled or purified water and carry a reusable bottle. Pack insect repellent for subtropical areas like Chitwan National Park. To respect local ecosystems, avoid single-use plastics where possible and follow “leave no trace” practices in natural settings.
Visa & Documents: Ensure your passport has at least 6 months of validity from your arrival date. Most nationalities can obtain a Visa-on-Arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport (or apply for an online pre-arrival form beforehand to save time).
